YGA Magazine Sells Out Premiere Issue

The first National glossy magazine for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
Transgendered, Queer, and Straight-Friendly youth sold out in Boston,
Seattle, Dallas, Philadelphia, Ann Arbor, and Baltimore. According to
ADLBooks.com, YGA Magazine was the top-selling North American gay magazine
for the month of December at A Different Light Books, the nationıs premiere
LGBT bookseller.

YGA Issue #1 received rave reviews from youth, teachers, counselors,
advertisers, members of the media, and religious groups.

Launched from the award-winning resource project Young Gay America
(http://www.younggayamerica.com), YGA Magazine responds to a growing need
for representation on the mainstream newsstand for non-³straight² youth and
young adults across North America.

³We are so happy with the performance of our first issue,² says YGA
Magazineıs Publisher Benjie Nycum. ³It tells us that the readers are there
and this is what they want.² In an increasingly conservative political
environment, it was a struggle to get the magazine distributed at first.
Sales have exceeded expectations.

³YGA Magazine introduces a new way of looking at the world,² says YGA
Magazine Editor in Chief Mike Glatze, ³we donıt believe gay or lesbian, or
queer, young people are minorities at all. We believe theyıre the future.²

³I feel proud of what weıve accomplished and this is just the beginning,²
adds Glatze.
