STEP 2 & 3: How New Members Gain Full Membership

We try our best to be a secure and safe site for gay teens and that means keeping out those who dislike gays and would like to shutdown the site.

EVERYONE can join this site and the administrators and moderators welcome you to the boards and hope you enjoy your stay! There are only two prerequisites 1) that you treat all members of the board with respect and 2) multiple identities are not allowed. Violation of these prerequisites may mean expulsion from the forums.

Since this is a gay teen forum we need to keep it safe for our members and require the following security measures.

NEW Jan 2010: New members are placed in the Newly Registered Members group and given the label "Newbie' until they make 10 posts. This is a security measure to protect our glbt members from hate attacks by homophobes.After this you will have PM access and can ask for full member (regular) status.

1) To start we can only allow you to post replies to existing topics in these four sections: Introduce Yourself, Open Discussion, World Media and I Need Help Now!. However you may initiate new topics in Introduce Yourself and I Need Help Now!, and of course you may use the Testing forum but posts here do not count towards your required minumum number of posts. This process is temporary until we get to know you better so that our current members will remain safe from unwelcome attacks of any kind.

2) If you want full access to the site, that means, if you want to be able to post in all the other sections and with some new ones, you will have to PM (Private Message) one of the new member mods (NMMs) listed below after you have a minimum of 10 or more posts so they can review your posts and determine if you are approved for full membership or not. Please do not PM a regular moderator for this task as it will only slow things down. If you have any questions about the registration process or the forums please PM one of the new member mods below also. Please make a post in the Introduce Yourself thread so the NMM can get to know you as a good and safe new member.

3) After you have PM'd one of the above NMMs, two or more of these mods will review all of your posts and if everything is in order, a moderator will approve your application for full membership in the forum! An admin will then add you to the full forum group and you will be notified of this approval. This can take 3-4 days so please be patient.

P.S. - Once you have the minimum of 10 posts or more, DON'T FORGET TO PM A NEW MEMBER MOD TO LET THEM KNOW! We can't watch EVERYONE that closely!
